Connecting a Known Name to the Books
For a public figure with several professional identities, recognition is not the problem. Helping readers find the books, the writing and accurate information about the literary work is.
The Challenge
Someone searching the name may want a biography, a particular book, a column, or a discussion about her writing. Right now those answers are scattered across references rather than gathered into owned destinations.
- Author identity spread across Tweak India and the personal website
- No single destination explaining the literary journey
- No dedicated page per book for title-specific searches
- Person and Book structured data still in progress; crawlability sign-off unconfirmed
The Proposed Plan
Give each search a page that owns it. A name search, a book-title search and a topic search should each land somewhere built for it.
- Month one — technical and entity foundation — the Wikipedia occupation and book-list update and initial crawlability work are recorded complete; IMDb listing work and Person and Book structured data remain in progress, and the weekly roadmap still shows crawlability fixes open, so final technical sign-off requires confirmation. Canonical tags, Core Web Vitals, and structured-data validation with recrawl requests
- Month two — the Author Journey page — a single destination explaining the progression of the writing career through approved biographical information, published works and relevant editorial references, connecting out to individual book pages
- A landing page per book — cover and approved description, authorised excerpt where available, attributed review excerpts with permission where required, accurate publication information, and links to approved purchasing destinations, supported by Book structured data
- Month three — refreshing the archive — older columns reviewed for titles, descriptions and internal links pointing to the Author Journey page or a related book, preserving original publication context and distinguishing presentation changes from substantive editorial updates
- Direct-answer content — verified answers to researched reader questions about the author journey, the books and where to find particular works. People Also Ask placement is an observed result, not a promised one
How Progress Would Be Measured
Impressions and clicks on author-related searches; search performance of individual book pages; indexing checks, canonical validation and audited issue resolution; internal links and navigation into the author and book pages; tracked clicks to approved book-buying destinations; recorded search-result and Knowledge Panel observations. A retailer-link click is reported separately from a confirmed book sale, and structured data does not guarantee a Knowledge Panel.
The Results
The workbook records completed and ongoing foundation activity, with the Author Journey page, book pages and content refreshes still planned. Its monthly outcome statements are intended milestones, not evidence of completion.
