A Storefront and Its Back Office
A production Node storefront for Shiōrra — with the admin, payments and cart logic a real shop actually runs on.
The Challenge
The shopfront is the easy half. Orders, stock and payments are where selling direct gets real.
- Sell direct without a platform tax or serverless lock-in
- Give the team one place to manage products, orders and users
- Take payments that reconcile, rather than just redirect
How We Built It
A storefront, its back office and its deploy pipeline — treated as one system rather than three projects.
- Carts that survive login — guests keep a session cart, members keep a database cart, and the two merge automatically the moment someone signs in
- Payments confirmed by the gateway — Razorpay Checkout with webhook verification, so an order is settled by Razorpay’s callback and never by the browser
- Admin in the same codebase — dashboard, product CRUD with image upload, order list and status, user management
- A deploy script that refuses to go wrong — every target is hardcoded, and the script hard-aborts if any host, path, PM2 process or repo collides with another project on the same infrastructure

shiorra.com — the storefront, served by the same Express app that runs the admin behind it.
The Impact
Express, Prisma and PostgreSQL under PM2 on a plain VPS — no Vercel, no Edge, no serverless runtime. Hosting stays a line item the brand controls rather than a dependency it cannot leave. Live at shiorra.com.
The Results
A shop that owns its stack, from the product page to the payment webhook.
