Flat-Lay Sarees, Turned Into a Real Shoot
The only assets we were given were sarees photographed on the floor. We put them on models without the result looking generated.
The Challenge
A saree photographed flat on the floor tells you the colour and nothing else. It cannot stop a scroll, and a model shoot was not in the budget.
- Turn floor-lay product shots into something worth looking at
- Avoid the tell-tale generated look
- Build campaigns on the new material
What We Did
AI to place the saree, craft to make it believable. The second half is where most of the work went.
- Placed each saree on a model — working from the flat-lay photograph of that exact piece, so the drape and the weave stay the product’s own
- Refined until the tells were gone — every image reworked until it read as photography rather than output. The owner’s own reaction was the test we used
- Built campaigns on top — once the look existed, the content calendar could use it

A saree that arrived as a photograph on the floor, placed on a model and refined until the tells were gone.
The Impact
Every saree in the range moved from a floor-lay photograph to a shoot-quality image, without the brand paying for a shoot and without the result announcing itself as AI.
The Results
A catalogue that looks shot, from photographs taken on the floor.
